Journey

A place I want to visit the most for holiday is Fiji, Guam. Sometimes ago my family went for holiday and they kept shown me off about how beautiful it is. But why they had gone without me? (laugh) Because I have never been visit Guam, I am so envy. If only there is a chance, I want to go with my whole family. I am rarely spending time with my family so I want family holiday.

Youth

During my childhood, my elder brother had English and Korean course while I had drawing, clarinet and piano. Even though I learn a little English but my focus on art and sport, I even went for vocal training. These should be my mum did not see “academic interest” in me so she picked those kind of courses for me.

History

When I was a trainee, the hardest time for me was the moment I have to stay independently and separate from my family. There was a time I thought about giving up. Every time that thought occurs my parents will come from Busan to Seoul to reassurance me. Asked me to thinking back and carefully before made a decision.  When I am playing around with my friends, my parents always said to me not to forget to prepare my future well, those times were over in my twenties. If only I do whatever I want to without thinking properly maybe I become a loser right now.

“I want to keep playing music even I get older”

CNBLUE is groove pop rock band. Of course we are not stick with this kind of style but in 2013, I hope we can proof our colour more than previous years. Despite I, myself who likes many genres so I keen on to make a different colours (many genres of songs), we need a clear style tough (one dominant style so that when people listen to the song they immediately recognize it was CNBLUE’s song even tough the song probably has different style). I think find our true colour is a main CNBLUE’s vision in playing music. For the long-term plan, I want to be vocalist who able to sing a song for a long time. Also, I want to keep perform on the stage along with the other CNBLUE’s members. I keep thinking positive, it gives a big help in my musical industry. With the power of positive thinking, I will show the better CNBLUE’s image.

“I remember it was 2010, January 14^th”

During ‘You’re Beautiful’ and ‘Heartstring’ drama filming I do felt a good atmosphere because both of the drama casts were almost the same age with me. ‘You’re Beautiful’ was quite fun. Hongki and Geunseuk hyung are pretty funny; we are three looked good on set. Even nowadays that drama is still popular overseas. Since it was my first drama, I have no high expectation. It leave me a deep impression, when I watched the drama for the first time its premiere my friends called and said, ‘it’s strange to see you used standard language (did not use Satoori).(laugh)

Everyday became pretty interesting because people starting to liking me as “Milk Boy” or “Towel Boy”. My second drama, ‘Heartstring’ boasts his popularity on overseas. Many had asked, ‘didn’t you felt disappointed since in Korea the rating is quite low, but I am satisfied enough when the drama ended and during the drama filming every casts keep thinking positive and push each other, an unforgettable drama. I heard that drama nicknamed “#1 Korean drama in Taiwan. At 2012, I want a free time for myself, some fans asked me, ‘why you didn’t do something?’ but I need some time out after 3 years nonstop working. I never composed song in relax and now I enjoyed the time a lot. During those times I composed about 20 songs. Since I composed for Juniel and AOA and for CNBLUE itself for sure, I am sure I can show the better image. It was exactly what I felt that day, 2010, January 10^th.

‘CNBLUE’s secret that I know? This is a secret that never told to anybody else… if this fact revealed, I am sure people who even sleep will woke up (because of surprise). Jungshin sometimes open his mouth while sleeping. Jungshin I’m sorry (laugh). At dorm, Jonghyun hyung often walking around without wears anything. He does not like to put anything on his body indeed. Looks like he wants to show off his body he built at gym. My secret, I have a lot of scar marks.’

‘I want to erase my childhood memories once I learned swimming. I was at 6 grades of elementary school when first time I learn diving. At that time I was immature and did everything without thinking. I try to dive but my pant was taken off! I was so embarrassed since many of my girls behind me. I tried to search my pant immediately but I found nothing. I really wanted to leave that memory behind but even now that memory keep haunt me down.’

‘Whenever I remember the family in the drama, I’m really happy.’

Kim Nanjoo senior has almost the same personality with her character in the drama, she also treat me just like   her own a little brother in the real life. Thus whenever I act I do feel like I am in my family. I heard also that the drama has a unique nick name ‘a national drama’. Wherever I go people will called me Cha Sekwang. I am not like Cha Sekwang who has many tricks to charm girls but I want to be my brother-in-law, Yoo Junsang senior who knows exactly what to do to in order to treat woman well. If talked about my ideal type, I love woman who watching over me. During drama shooting every casts did not feel any clumsiness when act together, we used to tell each other if somebody made mistake because we are close. Besides we do not have any other but the family (in drama). I want to balancing between CNBLUE’s activities and acting well but I prefer with CNBLUE because it was my root.

If there is a chance, I want to learn acting or other things. There are many things I want to learn, it would be fun to learn something new … I want to learn piano again, clarinet and saxophone. But the most of thing is piano, even though it would be hard to touch it again(since too long already did not playing) but I think I can do it well. Besides I want to learn piano because it different instrument with drum. I always thinking, I want to be a drummer who can adapt (musically) CNBLUE. Because I am a CNBLUE’s member and we don’t know in the future CNBLUE will be like. I want to be a drummer who able to adapt with the team. ‘In the end of the day, when I am about to sleep I have to do special treatment for my lips. My lip is very dry type so right before sleep I always applies moisturizer to keep the moisture lips. I use non perfume lip balm since I need it for treatment. Because of that I have no problem when I have to talk or perform on the stage.’

‘Honestly, when every one said to me “everything will be okay”, that is a big burden to me.’

Since I am the last CNBLUE’s members who step up into acting field, I felt a lot of burden. Honestly, when everyone said “everything will be okay”, that is a big burden to me. At first, I thought acting is not my things, because surely, the whole thing is not as easy as they are talking about. Some news who came up with headline “Reaching the peak rating” make people start to gossip about and it make me deadly stressful.  My first target on my first drama is: “I have to do the best so that I will not screw up the whole set” and next thing I become ambitious and saying “I have to be able to act naturally” as my second target. I know up to this time I am lacking in many things but I make an effort to make it better little by little. In the beginning as idol I am not doing solo activities yet, it felt dreadful. The other members understand those feeling better than anybody else does and because of that I do feel thankful. All of them keep supporting me. I am really happy to have a chance to act together with many senior actors and actress. Especially Lee Boyoung noona because she is my ideal type, honestly even on my wildest dream I never been dreamt to act together in a drama like this!

I am recently challenging the acting field for the first time through drama “My Daughter Seoyoung” and the changes I have gone as an actor Lee Jungshin is also helping my musical activities a lot. Since this is my first time as an actor I told my self frequently that I am extremely low place (he means, his acting knowledge is still negligible). It is a kind of mind control. This mental attitude helps me while I am made myself to do better both as a singer and a bassist. Is not my challenging task and goal to be more and more suit for CNBLUE as a bassist? Lately

The most drastically changing within CNBLUE lately is because the movement from Yeungdeungpo to Gangnam. In the previous dorm although we have living room but mostly we spent the time on our own room. Meanwhile in our new dorm we have big large space of living room, I am very happy (laugh). Likely there are many good fortune because a good mood by the new dorm.

If I am happening to be a reporter, I want to ask such a question: “What is your reason involved in music industry?” my real reason is I want to be somebody who lives by doing his desire passionately as part of my destiny. (He means doing music is his destiny)

Health

I am not such a couch potato and used to do activities all day along. I can do martial art and used to do stretching as basic training everyday. The problem is even I want to train everyday CEO and some of the people advise me not to do so much train because they afraid I will injured myself. So, recently I just do weight training (to control the weight). Actually this is a secret but I have “king abs” (means six packs, in Chinese character king=王). Other people probably do not notice it but I have a good body to show off (laugh).

I do music and acting recently, I think if the time I have is too limited. But doing both improved my skill and gives me a lot of possibilities in the future. In music for instance, I really think that I am nothing but I do feel challenged to have this opportunity. Because if I keep on explore my basic skill, both music and acting are actually quite fun. Still I think if my real root is music. Guitarist that leaves me a deep impression is Eric Clapton and just like him, I want to be a great elder guitarist. I try to keep flowing as the time change and importantly to be a good-looking man as well, haha.

“If I looking back my life time until now, it feels like I win a lottery, good fortunes come one after another.”

In the past, I used to think “acting is not my field”. Nowadays if I thinking back again, band and acting are two big things who come like lottery in my life, thus far I just doing music and when I made a first leap in acting field as a drama cast, I felt strangeness and completely lost.

Since we have debuted we are four experiences difficulties in reunited audiences. With the time goes by it becomes easier and through acting it comes even better. Actually, through acting, people who do not know CNBLUE begun to acknowledged and start to listen to our music (so then we could promote our band to them), that is a good point.

Right now, we are four doing both music and acting, it is looks good (because we have more self-confidence). Up to this day, I do not know what people think yet, but I hope they will say, “Very good”.

I really want to learn acting from experienced senior actors and crews. As Busan native, I love “Friend” movie, that movie had starred by Jang Donggun senior that is another reason I felt honour to act together with him (Jonghyun referred to A Gentleman’s Dignity he starred with Jang Donggun). The impression during drama filming is fun; I would like to say “pretty good” right from the start-up to the end of the drama.

Big Bang and CNBLUE took over Oricon′s Weekly DVD Chart with their concert DVDs.

According to Oricon on April 1, Big Bang′s Big Bang Alive Tour 2012 in Japan: Special Final in DomeDVD topped the music DVD chart after selling 36,000 copies.

The DVD, which was released on March 20, sold the most copies out of all Big Bang′s DVDs ever released in Japan. The group′s Big Bang Presents “Love & Hope Tour 2011″ had sold 35,000 copies in December 2011, 1,000 copies less than the most recent DVD.

CNBLUE′s DVD, which had landed on the no. 1 spot in the previous week, was pushed back this week to no. 2. Its Arena Tour 2012 ~ Come On!!! ~ @Saitama Super Arena DVD had previously topped Tower Records′ general DVD chart on the day of its release, March 20, and topped the Oricon′s Music DVD Chart.

The DVD contains CNBLUE′s live performances of 26 songs, including Come On, Time is Over and its Japan debut single In My Head.

Big Bang toured three domes in Japan, coursing through a total of six cities, while CN Blue held its first arena tour, in 2012.
